Maker and Role
Tasman Empire Airways Limited, Commissioned by
Grey plastic bag, slightly trapezoidal in shape with the top slightly shorter in length than the base. There is white piping around the edges of the 2 larger sides which also feature identical decoration. "TEAL" is painted on in large white letters (150 x 71 mm). Underneath, in blue, is "NEW ZEALAND's INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE" (222 x 9 mm). The TEAL logo of a stylised bird appears after the slogan.
A metal zipper runs across the top and part way down the sides. Just below where the zipper ends on one side, is a loop attached to the bag with a metal stud that would allow a strap to attach. On the opposite side that loop is broken.
The interior is the back of the same grey plastic that forms the body, except there is a rectangular piece of brown, white and grey plastic sewn to the bottom. The stitching is visible from the exterior base. Just inside the top are 2 rectangular cardboard supports 28 mm wide attached to the bag with metal studs that are visible from the exterior. They lie 15 mm below the white piping.
