Aerial photograph from Capt. Euan Dickson collection, taken during bombing raid on Dump between Bray and Chuignolles 1st July 1918. Extract from Log Book reads:
1st July 4.13 pm: Leader, Machine No.7811 Gunner, Jones, Time in air 1.27, Height 14,000.
Bombing raid on Dump between Bray and Chuignolles: A.A. very good until bombs were released when there was a huge explosion in dump and many minor explosions therein. Column of smoke immediately rose to 3,000-4,000 feet and explosions were occurring there when we were crossing lines. Next morning report came through "dump still burning - three ammunition trains destroyed, with numerous gas shells." Splendid sight, also photographs taken at the time.
