Dress tunic, wool serge, blue/grey. Short-waisted tunic with a shirt type collar. Left and right breast patch pockets with scalloped flaps. Down the front opening are 6 plastic buttons. The waistband has a flap which folds around the waist as buckles on the right hip. The badge on the left breast is a Signaller's badge. This is denoted by the letter 'S' and a wing sewn onto a black wool background. The letter 'S' and the wing are embroidered on the black wool in gold thread. Enfolded around the letter 'S' are laurel leaves. On the upper arms, are 3 fabric stripes. These are white, V-shaped stripes on a black background. Located in the 'V' of the top stripe, is a silver metal crown denoting a 'Flight Sergeant'. On each shoulder, there is a black wool badge with the words 'New Zealand' embroidered in white, and a winged eagle, also embroidered in white thread. The long sleeves of the tunic have a single button cuff. There are plain wool serge epaulettes on the shoulders. The front openings, waist and pocket areas are lined with a blue denim cotton.
