Description
Battle dress tunic, blue wool, short lapels, metal zipper front. The zipper is concealed behind the front panels. There are 2 patch pockets with triangle-shaped flaps. The pockets have a central pleat running vertically up the centre of the pocket. The tunic is lined with a blue satin-like fabric. The waistband forms a belt in the front. A 170 mm strip of the band wraps around the front and clips to the right side waistline. The metal waistclip is named "Wing Kee Made". There is an internal pocket in the lining of the right breast. The long sleeves have a double layer of the wool cloth forming a crown shape on each cuff. On the left breast is a pilot's badge which is embroidered on a black wool background. The badge has a gold thread embroidered crown, gold embroidered wings with NZ in gold enfolding with brown embroidered laurel leaves. The shoulder epaulettes have a single black button, embossed with a crown and eagle. Across the epaulettes are double bands of black, white and black stripes. Under the pilot's badge on the left breast is a medal which is a general service medal.
