Description
Navy blue, wool, officer's cap with a flat top and peak at the front. There is a band of black canvas around the base of the cap. At the front, is a strip of black leather secured with a button on each side. Also at the front, is an RAF badge on a background of black wool. The badge consists of a red and gold embroidered crown, a gold pin of a bird (eagle or albatross) and 4 gold branches embroidered in a swag formation. The hat is lined on the inside with blue cotton. Around the brim is a strip of brown leather. The inside of the top of the cap is lined with a brownish plastic. On the inside, there is a piece of string tied in a bow at the back.
