Forage cap, RNZAF. Blue/grey wool, narrow set hat with 2 brass buttons on the front of the hat and a brass badge on the left front. The badge is a lattice style. The letters RNZAF overlap each other. The letters are enfolded by gold laurel leaves and headed by a gold crown. Inside the hat, there is a split pin made of brass. This pin passes through 2 rings on the back of the badge and secures the badge to the hat. The side flaps of the forage hat are secured by metal hooks to an ventilation hole on each side of the cap. The headband is made from grey denim cotton and the band is 40 mm wide. The inside of the hat is lined with black cotton material.
