Description
-1 Astro Compass MKII, black, steel. 3 tiers high with a declination star sighter on the top tier. The sight has a double line and a U-sight. The bottom platform has 2 adjustment wheels for the leg lengths. The second tier is circular and has 360 compass degrees. The 3rd tier also has a 360° compass for true bearings. The Astro sighter is controlled by a wheel on the casing level with the 3rd tier. On the second tier level, there are 2 spirit levels to control the forward level and the side level.
-2 Box - grey painted wood with wooden dividers covered with green felt. On the side of the box lid is Astro Compass MKII. On the lid and sides of the box is written: DELICATE INSTRUMENT TO BE HANDLED WITH GREAT CARE. There is a canvas strap fitted to both ends for carrying the case. There are 2 L-shaped latches on the side for securing the lid. A notice in the lid reads: PACKING SET COURSE 'S' AND LAT TO '9' AND PLACE IN BOX WITH LEVELS DOWN.
