Description
Silk escape map. One side, marked SHEET D has maps of France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg. Elevation is indicated by shades of yellow, roadways in red, lines of demarcation in green, former frontiers in purple, water in blue and other features in black. Maps are on a grid pattern and degrees of longitude and latitude along the edges of the maps. There is a legend and scale for each map on this side. SHEET D is marked in black in the top right corner (when oriented North) 43/D. The other side is a map of Holland, Belgium, France, Germany and Luxembourg, and it is marked SHEET C. Elevation is indicated by shades of green, yellow and purple, roadways in red, water in blue, former frontiers in purple, international frontiers in red and other features in black. The map is on a grid pattern and degrees of longitude and latitude are marked along the sides. There is a legend in the top left corner (when oriented North). On the legend is a white sticker with HINDLEY handwritten in blue ink. In the top right corner, marked in black, is 43/C. Maps are on a cream-coloured background.
