Description
German aircraft instrument, possibly a drift correction unit. Black, metal box with a glass window and a spirit level glass window. Inside the glass window, is a revolving drum. The drum is black with degrees of the compass marked in half degree intervals. The numbers are in white. The margin of the unit is 36° East or West of N. Above the revolving drum is a fixed drum identical to the "N Setting". On the front of the instrument are 2 knobs. The left knob controls the bottom drum and the right knob controls the top drum. On the back of the instrument is an electrical plug with 14 pins. An aluminium clamp is fixed around the electrical plug to clamp the unit into the aircraft. There is a red fragile sticker stuck on the side of the casing.
