Description
Black and white ribbon and a silver medal. The New Zealand War Medal. A T-bar top formed by 2 silver ferns and a silver rod joining the tops of the ferns. The fern bases are attached to the apex of the coin type medal. The front of the medal reads: For Service to New Zealand 1939-1945. Underneath these words is a silver fern. On the back of the medal is a portrait profile of the head of King George VI. The wording on the medal perimeter is: GEORGIUS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP. The ribbon is black with white edges. This threads under the silver rod on top of the medal.
