Description
Blue, worsted wool No.1 RNZAF tunic, short lapel, 4 patch pockets, long sleeves, long cut tunic with belted waist and skirt bottom. 4 brass buttons down the front. Brass buttons on each of the flaps on the patch pockets. A change pocket is positioned beneath the right side breast pocket. The flaps on the breast pockets are scalloped and the large flaps on the hip pockets are straight. The garment is fully lined with a purple cotton/satin fabric. There is an internal breast pocket on the left side. The badge on the left breast denotes Bomb Aimer. The medal strip under the badge reads from left to right: 1939-45 Star, France and German Medal, Defence Medal, War Medal, NZ War Medal. The shoulder badges read "New Zealand". The letters are sewn in gold on a black background. The brass buttons are all decorated with the eagle, the crown and the letters 'NZ'. There is one stripe on each sleeve about 80 mm above the cuff. The stripe is made up of a black band, a gold band and a black band.
