Description
Air Force blue, woollen No.1 dress tunic. Fine wool finish. Short lapel, long cut coat to below the buttock. Four external patch pockets; one on each breast and one on each hip. The breast pockets have a scalloped flap and the hip pockets have a straight edged flap. Four brass buttons down the front facing and one brass button on each pocket. The buttons have a winged eagle and a crown above with 'N' on one side and 'Z' on the other side. The badge on the left side is the pilots Brevet. The two stripes are located 85 mm from the cuff of the sleeves. The stripes are made up of a black band, light blue stripe followed by a black band. The lining inside is royal purple and probably satin. The inside of the sleeves is lined with white striped cotton. The tunic has a central vent in the back which is 300 mm in height. The fabric belt is sewn around the back of the tunic forming a loose belt in the front. Between the right breast pocket and the right hip pocket is the opening to a change pocket. There is an internal pocket on the inside of the facing behind the breast pocket.
