Description
Air Force blue, wool-worsted, long-sleeved, short-waist battle tunic: standard shirt-type collar, patch pockets on each breast. The patch pockets have a central pleat with a flap and a concealed button. There are 5 black buttons down the front seam and the button holes are concealed in the front facing. The facings, waistband, inside collar and inside cuffs are lined with denim cotton. The front waistband extends 170 mm to form a belt. This buckles on the right side front of the tunic. The badge on the left breast (brevet) is for a Navigator. Below the badge is a metal strip. The first line is DFC and 1939-45 Star. (This is upside down and therefore back to front). The second medal line reads France and Germany Medal, Defence Medal, War Medal and NZ War Medal. The shoulder epaulette has a button which buttons alongside the collar. There are 2 stripes on the epaulette. They comprise a black band, light blue band and black band. This is identical in the second stripe. There are 6 pleat
