Description
Grey wool jacket with collar. At the collar are 2 medal hooks and 2 loops to close the collar. There are 5 black buttons down the front of the jacket on the right flap and 5 corresponding hidden button holes on the left on denim lining. The top button has a crown above a bird in flight. On each shoulder is an epaulette with 2 stripes on it. Each epaulette is attached with a brass button with a crown flanked by the letters 'NZ', above a bird in flight. Below each epaulette, on the sleeve, is a badge with white embroidery that says: NEW ZEALAND. Each jacket flap has a pleated breast pocket with denim lining. The pockets are closed with a single hidden button and each has a cover flap with a scalloped edge.

Above the left pocket is a Bomb Aimer's badge and a medal bar. The badge is embroidered with the letter 'B' surrounded by a laurel wreath. There is a wing on the right side. Below it is a navy blue/red/light blue bar that corresponds to the 1939-45 Star. At the waist is a strap on the left side that fits into a silver belt buckle and belt loop on the right. The cuffs are lined in denim and have a hidden button and button hole each. Jacket is pleated at the back, at the waist. Inside there is a blue denim lining on the collar, button seams and waist. A second piece has been added to the waist and it has 2 button holes in it. On the left jacket flap is an interior pocket made of denim. There is a flap with a button hole to close it. There are 2 denim patches at the shoulders to reinforce the area where the epaulette buttons have been sewn in.
