Description
Grey woollen greatcoat with collar and lapel. There is a row of 4 brass buttons and 4 button holes down the left and right jacket flaps. There is also a brass button under each side of the collar as well as 2 buttons sewn to the underside of the collar. There are 2 side pockets, each with a cover flap. There are 2 detachable epaulettes - each has 2 stripes (black, white, black and black, blue, black) and a brass button. There is a leather strap on the underside which is fitted through 2 loops on the shoulders of the jacket to attach the epaulette. On each shoulder is a badge embroidered in white that reads: NEW ZEALAND. The cuff of each sleeve has 3 buttons and corresponding button holes. Each of the buttons has a crown on it flanked by the letters NZ, all above a bird in flight. There is a vertical running slit in the back of the coat running from the bottom to the waist.
