Description
Navy blue woollen jacket with collar and lapel. There are 4 brass buttons down the front right jacket flap and 4 corresponding button holes on the left. There are 2 pleated breast pockets, one on either side. The cover flaps are held in place with a single button each and 2 snaps, one at each end of the flap. Below the right breast pocket, is a horizontal opening for another pocket. There are 2 side pockets, each with a cover flap and a securing button. All of the buttons on the jacket have a crown flanked by the letters NZ, above a bird in flight.
On the cuff of each sleeve is a stripe with the horizontal colour sequence of black, blue, black. At the back of the jacket is a vertical slit, from bottom to the waist. At the waistline is a woollen belt with brass buckle and 3 sets of 2 holes. There is also a snap at each end of the belt to help hold it in place. The belt is secured to the back of the jacket with 2 black elastic loops. Jacket has a blue cotton lining. There is an opening to an interior breast on the right side jacket flap. There is a tab on the inside of the collar, probably used to hang the jacket.
