Description
Small pocket diary with soldier in a brown uniform playing the bugle on cover. Written in red underneath the soldier is: Duty Call. Inside the front and back covers are linings with yellow and blue maps printed on them of France, Belgium and Holland. The membership card has been filled in: Regimental No.13/94. Rank: Corpl Name: C K Mills. Home Address: Te Kawa King Country NZ. Corps: 3rd Auckland Mounted Rifles now Otago Mounted Rifles. Section: Main Body.
The diary includes military definitions, first aid for poisoning, special signals and a calendar. The memoranda, personal agenda, a letter register has been filled in with personal notes (in coloured ink and pencil). Calling cards of J E Russell, Miss L Massey, W Hyatt and Miss Eunice Boettjar have been tucked into the pages, as have other pieces of paper with notes on them. Along the spine of the diary is a place for a pencil which is in place. The back cover has several colourful flags. A crest with the Union Jack is on top of them. The crest reads: FOR FREEDOMS CAUSE
