Description
A decoration of the Office of the Order of the Southern Cross, presented to Jean Batten in 1935 by the Brazilian government. A circular medal with a five pointed star in the centre. The medal is attached to an oval shaped green wreath which is suspended from a pale blue ribbon. In the centre of the medal is a blue circular medallion with five white stars representing the Southern Cross and the inscription 'EMERENTIUM PRAEMIUM' which is Latin for Deserving Reward or Prize.
