Description
-1 Mincer made of cast iron. The bowl and base have been cast as one. The handle or crank arm has been cast separately. The main shaft with its spiral surround has been also cast separately. The oval hopper mouth is 100 mm long x 75 mm wide. The hopper feeds into a cylindrical bowl. The crank arm has a butterfly nut which connects the spiralling shaft. This fits into the opening in the side of the bowl and extends out the other side of the bowl where the cutting surface meets the cutting blade. The spiral shaft has a thread on the end and also a locking device for the for the various blades that are normally available. With this unit, there is only one cast iron cutting blade which fits on the end of the shaft and is secured by a wing nut. The bench or table clamp extends 150 mm below the bowl. The clamp has 2 legs which fit over the table or bench top. The clamp itself is 90 mm deep. The clamp has a bolt with a thread. On the end of the threaded bolt is a concave metal washer which is tightened by a wing nut on the other end of the bolt. This concave washer clamps the mincer from under the table.

At the end of the crank arm is a wooden handle which is manually turned. When strips of meat are fed through the hopper at the top, they are drawn along the spiral shaft and forced out of the double cutting edges of the unit. This produces mince and, depending on the dimension of the cutting blade holes, is the size of the mince. The inside wall of the barrel is also spiralled to accommodate the spiral shaft. The manufacturer is Beatrice Reg. Trade Mark No. 224159. Made in England. This information is printed on the crank arm.
