Description
NAC Pilot's cap Ex Captain Bill Kirk. White vinyl top with a black fabric headband. The peak is of plastic, black. The underside of the peak is a green hard composite material. The front badge is cloth with gold wings and feathers embroidered on the black cloth background. A red shield rests between the wings and printed in gold on the shield is NZ NAC. A shiny plastic strap 270 mm long and 12 mm wide transverses the peak. This strap is just above the peak and is fixed by plastic dome fasteners. The inside of the hat is lined with brown cloth. The sweat band is made of leatherette and is 40 mm wide. The manufacturer's label is a clear plastic circle 110 mm in diameter sewn into the centre of the inside lining. The white printing on the label reads: "Hills Hats Ltd. Uniform Cap Makers Wellington NZ". The front badge is fixed to an elastic band 30 mm wide which can be removed from the cap. On the underside of the white vinyl top, are air eyelets, 2 on either side of the cap.
