Description
Heavy, leather suitcase with reinforced corners, fastened by 2 metal fastening mechanisms on the top side. The leather handle, which also is on this edge, is missing. On the front face, the case is labelled C.K.M. Paper labels adhered to the outside of the case indicate the various journeys of the case. The lid is hinged on 2 leather straps. Within the lid is a leather pocket holding a leather writing satchel with pens, paper and envelopes. On the outside of the pocket, are suspended 2 boot hooks of chrome-plated metal with ebony handles. Above the pocket, are an ebony flat shoe horn and an ebony handled buffing tool. Small pockets either side of the central pocket are empty while a sleeve below holds a horn comb. Within the suitcase itself are various items relating to C K Mills. At each side is a removable fold-out leather and metal frame; to the right, holding 2 monogrammed brushes, shaving and essential tool kit, to the left 5 various sized silver topped and monogrammed bottles, 2 brushes and an ink and a light container.

The items relating to C K Mills in the suitcase are: ANZAC Day 1925 Programme, dark blue, light blue and maroon stripe silk scarf, silk socks and braces. Royal Flying Corps silk/wool tie, blue and white cotton tie, 2 detachable collars, a copy of "Buckshee" (a book), 3 pages from a photograph album with labelled images of aeroplanes, blotting paper, 2 postcards, silk special constable ribbon, perforated metal plate, a cuff link, cylindrical glass bottle with metal lid, red leather 'travelling slippers' purse, leather belt with leather holster, the leather strap for one of the boots and a War Department Stores Carrier's Note.

Paper leave pass - Leave pass, Army Form B295 issued to C K Mills (written on the left hand corner in ink is "Permanent Pass". The leave pass is signed by Forsythe, Commanding.
