Description
Scales for the weighing of the human infant.
A. Scales, painted pink. Pink-coloured cast iron frame with metal mechanism. Pedestal has 2-sided square upper half; extended arm over the single balancing beam onto which weights were added from the storage rack on top of the arm. This scale set has a base and a stem from which a scale gauge protrudes. Detachable platform with frame at back. 'W.T. Avery, Birmingham, Type 4121, Manuf. no. 36' on plate affixed to front of tower.
B. Tray - has downward facing clips on end-piece to secure dish.
C. Dish - has feet, curved steel, with friction/pressure clip to secure to tray.
