Description
Set of balance scales mounted on a wooden base. In the centre is a tall brass rod which has an angled rod screwed on top. This acts as the fulcrum for the horizontal lever of the scales. This lever has an inverted semi-circular loop at each end from which is suspended an "S" shaped hook. A red string is attached to this hook and at the end of the string is a curved pan at each end. The height of the system can be raised or lowered on the angular rod on top which has notches along its length.
