Description
Hand drawn fire reel. Large double-spoked wheels. Used by Waihi Fire Brigade from 1898 to 1916.
Part 1 - Wooden wheel, Spoked. Painted red.
Part 2 - Wooden wheel, Spoked. Painted red.
Part 3 - Disassembled, in many parts. Painted red. Appears to have been restored at some point (workmanship of wooden components, and brightness of red paint). Metal appears to be wrought iron indicating age of circa 1900 or older. No central reel or axle. T-bar handle at front with small supporting wheel. Branch pipe holders and single handles at rear.
