Description
IBM 727 magnetic tape unit. Upright rectangular unit on four wheels, painted grey, door at front with silver frame and strip of metal across centre (that has a switch in the middle, and four buttons either side - in blue, red and white, black button handle on left side to open door) with perspex panels top and bottom,Inside has two magnetic tape reels and heads for reading them (much like a cassette tape player), One Reel is grey plasticone with label "IBM", the other with blue label 'Storage Master...' and a white sticker handwritten 'TAPE / LIBRARY / MANAGEMENT / 11-4-90 / Made in U.K.' . Panels on the rest of the machine are missing. Makers plate has been removed.
