Description
Piece from propeller of a Tiger Moth no. ZK-ACD which crashed near Dannevirke June 7th, 1931. The piece is from the propeller tip - wooden with copper tip flashing and fabric cover.
Brief History
This propeller tip is from the De Havilland Tiger Moth ZK-ACD which flew from the Hood Aerodome in Masterton in the early 1930s. The aircraft was damaged on June 7th, 1931 after colliding with a fence during a forced landing in the Waitahora Valley, Dannevirke. The fragment is from the propeller, the tip of which was damaged during this incident.
