Description
Large motorised scythe with Villiers petrol engine. Painted green. Two long handles, left has throttle, right has brake lever. Two large wheels with pneumatic tyres. Blades and teeth at front. "ALLEN / OXFORD" embossed on wheel rims. "Villiers" impressed on engine casing. Maker's plate on top of engine "PATENT NOS [...] / MACHINE NO. / 81370 F / QUOTE THIS NO WHEN ORDERING SPARES / JOHN ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD LTD) / COWLEY OXFORD." Large maker's plate on rear of engine casing "VILLIERS PETROL ENGINE / No 187A19257 / 25".
