Description
"White" treadle sewing machine, bought in 1907. Sewing machine in wooden cabinet. When machine is stored, it is folded down and sits beneath top surface of cabinet. Two side flaps are hinged to close over sewing machine and act as a table when opened. One side has a groove carved in to accommodate treadle belt. Front cabinet door open to reveal foot treadle and four drawers on left-hand side. Drawers contain sewing paraphernalia, including a "White" box of sewing machine feet, piece of fabric, sewing machine needles, etc. Sewing machine is cast iron. Black with silver floral transfer design. Has a hand-operated wheel to the right. Stitch-length control on sewing machine base. Rubber cord fits onto wheel and adjoins to treadle wheel. Tension control above needle. Two thread spool holders on top of machine.
