Description
Sextant - black metal device with several dials. The body is almost rectangular except it is missing one corner. On each of the 2 larger sides are attached cylindrical elements. On the long skinny side are 2 round elements, including an eye piece. The smallest side has a short cylinder 94 mm in diameter on it. On the front of that piece is a metal winding key; on the back is a trigger device. One corner has in white: "Bubble Sextant/Mark 1xA/Ref. No.6B/218/Brit pats / 480112 490621/and pending". The serial number (8622/43) is inscribed on the opposite side. Below the serial number is a metal plate with "Object Start Finish Att." on it.

Case: Brown, wooden box with lacquered finish. The box is almost square except for one corner that is missing. The box is hinged on the bottom in the middle and is closed at the top with 2 metal clasps. There is a leather handle (brown) attached to 2 sides. There are 2 metal brackets along the bottom edge. On the front is a silver-coloured label that says
