Description
Fire tender, hand-drawn. Gig type wheels. Hydrant, hose nozzle and axe brackets. Originally, this fire tender was part of Temuka Fire Brigade.

Part 1 - Consists of a central axle with surrounding hose reel, spoked end pieces. Reel is wooden and metal framed. Reel is mounted in a wooden and metal chassis frame, with two arms which have handles at the rear and join at front where another handle would have been attached previously. Brake lever on inside front left. Branch pipe holders at rear end of side arms. Appears to have been painted red, but is quite faded. The ends of the axle have detailed maker's information.
Part 2 - Large wooden wheel with spokes. Flat iron wheel rim.
Part 3 - Large wooden wheel with spokes. Flat iron wheel rim.
