Description
Kodak No.1 Box camera - green felt plug over lens. First model 100 exposures, fixed focus, rectilinear lens f8. Impressed on back, No.18245, also patented May 5, 1885 and other patents applied for in all countries. Early model. It is a simple wooden box, 6½" long, 3¼" wide and 3¾" high. Taking a photograph required 3 simple steps: 1. Turn the key to wind the film. 2. Pull the string to set the shutter. 3. Press the button to release the shutter. Impressed on the side of the box camera is patent numbering although the impressed text is partially illegible.
