Description
Polaroid J33 Land Camera, used 30 series roll film.
Brief History
The Polaroid Land J33 camera, manufactured between 1961 and 1963, was one of the last Polaroid cameras to use instant roll film. In 1963 Polaroid launched their peel-apart pack film which replaced the instant roll film.
Instant roll film, of the type used in the J33 Land camera, was first used in the Polaroid Model 95, which was launched in 1948 and was the first viable instant camera. Invented by American inventor and physicist Edwin Land, the camera took instant roll film on twin rolls at either end of the camera body. Pods of chemicals incorporated into the film burst to spread a developing and fixing solution over the film surface as it slid between the rollers, producing a positive image.
