Description
Military swagger stick used by officers. The core of the stick is a metal rod on which rounded sections of wood have been threaded. The metal rod is approximately 3 mm in diameter. Two colours of wood have been used. One dark wood, possibly mahogany, and the light wood possibly matai. The dark wood is approximately 70 mm in length. The rods of wood have been cored out and threaded alternately on the metal rod. Light, dark, light, etc. The light timber rods are 35 mm on average, the dark rods are 70 mm on average. The handle or capital is 30 mm in diameter and made of pewter. The tip of the stick is 17 mm in length and made of brass. It is possibly a bullet casing.
