Description
An example of Woolight technology in the form of a corrugated sheet. Square wooden frame, painted black. On top rests a construction of merino fibres shaped to represent a piece of corrugated iron, attached with glue along all four edges. This item shows the versatility of the wool fibre. Engraved into the wood is, "MAX BIRT SAWMILLS - SG8 NZS3622 - ", "SG8 NZS3622", "MAX BIRT SAWMILL", "S 3622", "MAX BIRT SAWMILLS - SG8 NZ".
Brief History
Made entirely from woollen fibres, this corrugated sheet mimics the traditional iron-manufactured corrugated sheets traditionally used for roofing, barns and sheds. Lightweight, fire resistant and home-grown, the wool used here is sustainably sourced and can be used in a range of other products and applications.
