Description
United Fire Brigade Association Service Medal.

Silver medal on red ribbon. Clasp at top with three pointed spikes which extend through the ribbon to secure it. The ribbon is long and has nine service bars attached to it with "2 / YEARS / SERVICE" embossed on each of them. The bars have a shield in the centre with flames around it and helmet with crossed axes at the top. At the bottom of the ribbon, a bar with shield and flames holds the medal. "HENDERSON / V.F.B' is engraved on it. The medallion in circular in shape and has a fireman with hose flanked by shields depicted in relief. "UNITED FIRE BRIGADE ASSOCIATION / N / Z / AUXILIUM IN / PERICULO" is embossed. On the reverse of the medal, "LONG SERVICE MEDAL / PRESENTED / TO / Fireman / FRANCIS W. POTTER / by / Henderson V.F.B. / FOR / FIVE YEARS SERVICE / DATE COMPLETED / 12.12.39" is inscribed.
