Description
"The Sanderson" folding half plate camera, double extension.
Brief History
In 1895, Frederick H Sanderson patented a mechanism involving a double, slotted strut system that allowed the lens board of a camera to move forwards, backwards and vertically, and be tilted, giving the photographer a greater degree of control over focusing than previously.
Holmes Brothers, of Islington, manufactured the Sanderson cameras, and Houghton selling the cameras. The last of the Sanderson cameras were produced in 1939.
