Description
Copper coloured coin made of silver, copper and aluminium. On obverse: Fireman standing with hose in hand. This coin commemorates the Centennial of Municipal Fire Fighting in Auckland 1874-1974 by the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Brigade.
Brief History
1974 marked the 100 year anniversary of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board. In order to commemorate this event, commemorative medals such as this were cast. The medal was designed by master engraver Anton Teutenberg.
