Charlie Fuller will restore a 1906-1908 traction engine, made by Ruston Proctor Ltd (later changed to Ruston Hornsby Ltd), obtained from Punaruku where it was used to power a sawmill in the 1950s. It was originally used for farm contracting in South Auckland, then by the Auckland Electric Power Board for road excavation.
Mr Fuller has penned in corrections of the text.
MOTAT has expressed interest in the restored engine.
