Standard Face Shield by ShieldsUp.
Part 1: A laser cut, square piece of transparent plastic is attached to a grey, 3D printed frame. The frame is semi-circle shaped, with another over-arching piece on top. This has four protruding knobs, which insert into four holes along the top edge of the plastic shield. Two small knobs on each end of the frame are used to attach a white piece of fabric elastic which can be adjusted to the desired fit. Engraved into the frame is the text, "ShieldsUp.NZ".

Brief History
Face shields were manufactured throughout New Zealand in 2020 in response to the Level 4 lockdown from 26 March to 28 April 2020, a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic. The shields were made on 3-D printers using an open-source code developed and supplied by Prusa Research (https://www.prusa3d.com/covid19/). Following on from successful community calls throughout Europe, Tim Carr from MindKits initiated a call to 3-D printers throughout New Zealand which resulted in a positive groundswell of interest and action.
The national call for interest was made on 27 March 2020 and within three days a communication group was coordinated using Slack. By day eight country-wide logistics and distribution networks were established. Using stocks to hand, individuals and maker groups worked to produce shields for use by front line workers.
