Description
Wooden case with glass front. Display items are bakelite encased. Box is varnished. Mounted inside the small display case are:
1. Cutaway hardback microphone - circa 1910.
2. 1 piece handset - circa 1935.
3. Cutaway of the then standard earphone know as a "Bell Receiver".

Brief History
During the 1920s and 1930s the design of telephones advanced from having separate ear and mouth pieces to a one piece handset that incorporated both receiver and transmitter elements.
