Description
"The use of software simulation of real systems, including computer systems, is one of the important applications of computers to Education and Training. When applied to computer systems as well as aiding education, simulators can have more surprising side-effects such as increasing users' expectations and thereby improving the 'state of the art' and of altering dramatically the approach taken to teaching the subject. This paper discusses the use of simulation in Computer Science Education. Following a brief discussion of some examples from computing in general, a more detailed description is given of simulators developed at Auckland University for teaching Computer Organization." --Abstract.
