Description

Commemorative medal, bronzed aluminium. Embossed on the obverse is "RICHARD W. PEARSE / 1877-1953 / ENGINEER AND AVIATOR" with a picture of a plane. Embossed on the reverse is "MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT & TECHNOLOGY / RICHARD PEARSE / PIONEER / OF / POWERED / FLIGHT / 1903-1904 / AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND" with an image of an eagle.

The medal is held in a blue velvet presentation case. Embroidered on the interior of the lid is "IATA / [logo] / STERLING SILVER".
