Description
Collection level record of a series of 40 original pencil illustrations created by Stan Woods of portraits of significant New Zealand Aviators. Illustrations were created as a tribute to New Zealand's aviation history for display in MOTAT's Pioneers of Aviation exhibition that ran at MOTAT site 1 from the 1970's to 2013.


Illustrations include, group portraits of:

Arthur, Charles and John Brazier
Harry Litchfield, Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, Charles Ulm, Tom McWilliams and illustration of "The Southern Cross" to commemorate the First Trans-Tasman flight on September 10th 1928.
George Hood and John Moncrieff
