Description

Sepia toned original print of the ship the S.S. City of San Francisco, a Pacific Mail Company ship in Auckland Harbour. In foreground is a wharf and tall ships. On verso is written information of ship as well as date and photographer. Date is given as Sunday 14 March 1875. It is likely this date is incorrect as the City of San Francisco did not reach Auckland till January 1876. The photographers name is given as C.B. Gentil, Shortland Street, Auckland.
