Black and white original photographic print of four Blackburn B-5 Baffin Biplanes of the Royal New Zealand Airforce parked on grass in a row. View is from behind of starboard side.

Aircraft include RNZAF aircraft NZ 171. This aircraft was originally built as Ripon Mk.IIA and registered as S1571 with Fleet Air Arm. In this image aircraft has Fleet Air Arm registration, S1571, on fuselage. This aircraft was shipped to Hobsonville in 1938, afterwards it was sent to Woodbourne and Whenuapai and broken up at Rongotai in 1941.

From 1937 29 Blackburn Baffin's were used to equip Territorial Squadrons in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland. Originally the Baffin's were brought on charge (BOC) at Hobsonville in 1937 - 1939.
