Verso includes unaddressed correspondence mentioning arrival in Auckland and start of work; spending a few hours in Whangarei; rough sea travel and sickness on the Ngapuhi ship; no time to visit relatives or friends ("the girls"); mentions visiting Elsie and [Hugh] and asks for recipient to write soon.
