Telecom Phone Card presentation booklet. A5 sized phone card booklet containing two phone cards.
The cover of the booklet has an illustration of Sir Edmund Hillary in the centre behind mountains with snow. At the top in red text is printed, "Sir Edmund / Hillary", and below in black is, "Commemorative Issue 1998". In the top right hand corner is a blue box with the text, "OFFICIAL / COLLECTOR ISSUE / 750 / SETS ONLY". Along the bottom of the cover is a red strip with the Telecom logo at the bottom left.
Inside, the first page is dark blue, with a red strip along the bottom edge. The page is headed with red text, "Sir Edmund / Hillary / Commemorative Issue 1998". Below this is white text with biographical information about Edmund Hillary, "Sir Edmund Hillary is the most famous New Zealander of modern times [...]".
The second page has a white background and has inserts to hold two phone cards, one in the top left corner and one in the bottom right corner.
The first phonecard has an illustration of Sir Edmund Hillary, with the Telecom logo in the bottom right hand corner, and the text, "$10 GST / INC. / PHONECARD(TM)" in the bottom left. On the back of the card is the barcode, "141C1048953", and in the top right hand corner is the letter, "B". Below is the text, "Sir Edmund Hillary / Commemorating the 45th anniversary of his conquest of / Mt Everest in 1953. Portrait by Edward Halliday, 1955.". The phone booklet is protected in a clear plastic sleeve that resembles an envelope.
