Black and white photograph of Boeing 314 aircraft the 'California Clipper' operated by Pan American Airways. Aircraft is in the water next to a platform with people boarding onto the aircraft. Aircraft has American registration number 'NC 18602' and a symbol on the vertical stabilizer; with text 'Pan American Airways System' written on the fuselage underneath the port wing.
This aircraft was operated by Pan American Airways from 1939 - 1950, when it was sold to World Airways and renamed the 'Pacific Clipper'
