Description
Spring loaded Pilot Chute. White nylon pilot chute with four metal rods attached in centre of chute by spring - attached to underside of fabric. Eight strings attached to outside edge of fabric tied together as loop at other end. Chute is labelled with a blue stamp "NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE FIBRES, INC. / DATE FEB6 1943 / DWG. NO. 69310-1 / 10 / N.A.F.L / AN / F10".

if you are interested, i have a picture of the National Automotive Fibres plant in Detroit, MI, interior shot dated 1942. My mother was employeed there making parachutes.
