Description
Copy print from a photograph taken on the 27 Feb 1931. First landing of Oscar Garden on Stewart Island. One of the wheels got caught in a lump of bull kelp (seaweed), which slewed the plane and made it run out into the bay. As most of the men were out fishing, local women and children helped pull it in.
